How Do We Make The Best Chicken Biryani? (Recipe)
We have been asked a multitude of times about the secret behind our yummy chicken biryani. On popular demand, we are excited to share the recipe from our amazing chef.
Marinating Your Chicken:
The most important part of preparing our chicken biryani is the marination of the chicken. We use yogurt, fried onions, tomato puree, chilli, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, and garam masala (an Indian spice mix). We prefer chicken thighs or legs for our biryanis but you can use whatever you would like.
Marinate your chicken for at least 2 hours. If you want to have the best and juiciest effect, marinating overnight would be the best option.
Preparation of chicken biryani:
Cut the onions into slices and brown them in oil on a medium flame. Make sure they don’t burn. We make fresh brown onions but you can pick them up in grocery stores if that’s more convenient.
If you want the perfect biryani, use ‘basmati rice’ as it has not only long grains but its fragrance is also tempting! You can cook the basmati rice for 5-10 minutes in boiling water along with whole spices and salt since you don’t want it fully cooked.
Finishing:
Now you can start cooking the marinated chicken in oil. After it is partially cooked, you can layer it with the fried onions, coriander, and mint. You can feel the sweetness with the onions while the herbs bring in the flavor to the biryani. Next, add in the rice. Finally, garnish and serve with soaked saffron and ghee.
